In sixth grade, students will apply their knowledge of multiplication and division to understand problems involving ratios and proportions. They will increase their fraction skills to include dividing and begin to use equations and expressions with variables. Along the way, they will also begin to use negative numbers. Geometry will include formulas for length, area and volume allowing more practice with expressions and equations.
